We have received our final budget from the Kenya field: $8,389.12. We have currently raised 29% of our funds so we are in desperate need of more people to partner with us on our journey into missions. Our tickets will not be bought until we are at 50% and we cannot head out to the field until we have all of our funds raised. Our target departure date is May 22, 2010, which is not far away at all! We keep praying about it and ask anyone who reads this to pray with us. We have been getting rather discouraged as of late...but we still feel that this is the direction that the Lord is taking us so we are confident that if this is the case, He will provide our needs in His timing! We just kinda wish that His timing would coincide with ours :) But we know this is not always the case.
We also now know that we will be stationed in Nakuru, Kenya. Chris will be working with the field treasurer there and I will be working at the AGC Baby Centre. We are both really excited about the roles that we are needed to fill and we pray that our funds come in so we are there when the field needs us. We are planning on being in Nakuru for 8 weeks as VIA with World Gospel Mission and after the 8 weeks are up we will go to Tenwek for a few weeks and stay with my family just as their kids...we will no longer be VIA at that point. We are incredibly excited about the opportunities that await us in Kenya! Pray that our financial needs are met and we are able to leave May 22!
